U.S. 101 CLOSURE UPDATE 5/05/17 2:00 AM:
101 remains closed with no estimated time for reopening. The slide remained active all night, so it is unknown when it will be safe for our contractor to begin cleanup again after taking a nap time. It is unclear if the contractor worker allowed the motorists vehicles go thru when the hillside started to slip away and the motorists decided to get out her car and took a selfie while the slide was coming towards her. Caltran and CHP is investigating the incident while eating donuts at this time.
