Joplin to be new home of the KC Chiefs!

With consistent growth in the population of Joplin and constant expansion since the tornado in 2011, the area has been looking for an NFL team to represent the southern portion of the state.

The Hunt family who owns a majority of the Chiefs has confirmed that as of the 2018-19 season, the KC Chiefs will officially call Joplin, Missouri home. Clark Hunt, chairman of the team stated, “With the large Native American presence in the four state area, it made sense to bring the Chiefs home to be celebrated.”

Joplin City officials will be making an official announcement on Monday, July 17 to review plans for the new stadium and location.
